I bought a Remington F- 8700 shaver after some good reviews, but missed ones about the state it leaves your face when your done. It leaves the area you just shaved black like you had rubbed soot on your face, what a mess, then you need to wash with soap and water to get it off, you wouldn't need to shave on the way to work or you would look really daft with this dirty looking face. Won't be buying another Remington, that's for sure, also on my second foil set in my first year with this shaver.
I am not sure what the negative reviews refer to! This is by far the best shaver I have ever owned (and I have owned for several years). I have 2 shavers as I live out of 2 locations and have recently bought a Panasonic (t replace one of the Remingtons after 8 years of great service) and the Panasonic is terrible, takes almost twice as long to get the same level of cut. I am here to get another Remington to replace the brand new Panasonic and I couldn't believe the negative comments, especially the one claiming that all Remingtons leave a black mark, what a load of rot!
This is my second Remington shaver. As with the first purchased, foils wear out very quickly and like all Remington shavers leaves a black residue on your face.
Remington shavers are a total 'Rip off'. On the other hand, Braun, although more expensive, give a good shave, do not leave black marks all over your face and you can at least purchase replacement foils.
Be advised, buy something other than a Remington.
