The Braun 560 Series 5 Shaver is very comfortable to use. It gives a close shave and is nice and quiet, and I would recommend it to anyone. Could have have done with having a foil protector.

I purchased this item after being advised to go electric following being put onto Warfarin.
However I have found one problem with re-charging.
On a recent holiday in Europe the pins on the lead were about 2-3mm too close to fit the 2 pin sockets. This happened in Belgium,Austria,Croatia,Italy,Switzerland and France. In one instance they were also too big in diameter.
I overcame the problem by using a combination of various adaptors.

It comes in a nice travel case and is nicely compact.
It is quiet and looks nice. It does give a close shave.

I bought a Braun 560 Series 5 but little did I know that Braun have done something with their new shavers which means the way the foil and cutter sit on your skin is every so slightly (fractions of millimetres) different, I have put them side to side, old vs. new, and the difference is subtle but obvious. I think anything that is Gillette branded is the new version? Apparently 80% of men don't have an issue with this but for the other 20% (like me) it results in a VERY bad shave that leaves visible stubble!

The pressure required to get a smooth shave ala my Braun 5770 resulted in skin spot bleeding! This is where the review gets interesting. Naturally I assumed that I wouldn’t be able to return my purchase for hygiene reasons but thought I'd email shavers.co.uk to let them know my disappointment that a same brand shaver had given such a bad result. To my surprise early the next morning I had a phone call from customer services to thank me for my feedback and assuring me someone would be in touch.

Later that day I had a call from one of the product experts (Marc Edwards) who explained how some men have a problem with the new Braun design (they think it might be how your stubble/hair grows). To my total surprise he said it would be fine to return the product. Not only that, but I could have a full refund (or credit to use to buy new foils/cutters for my original 5770). What a shock and pleasant surprise! I thanked Marc for his offer but explained that really I needed a new shaver and wanted something to match my original 5770.

He recommended looking at some of the Panasonic shavers and walked me through several examples while on the phone (directing me to product codes on the site) taking his time and giving honest and frank opinions. He even tolerated me sending pictures of my bad shaves from the Braun! There was no pressure and in fact it wasn't until 2 days later I rang him back and ordered one of the Panasonics.

I bough the Panasonic Pro-Curve ES8101. Okay 3rd and final part of this review! The Panasonic is the daddy! The cut is so smooth and easy, no pressure is needed and the shaver makes having a shave pleasant again! No rash or red marks, very capable on the neckline, under the bottom lip and the top lip (which is where the Braun 560 Series 5 struggled). The charge on the battery is excellent and it is very easy to clean (under the tap then leave to dry before reassembling).

The shaver is comfortable to grip and while the cutter is noisier than my original Braun it is certainly not too loud as to be annoying. It has a useful side clipper and comes with a neat carrying pouch/protective cap. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And shavers.co.uk really really surpassed expectations in terms of customer service, I shall be returning and spreading the word!

I have been using the Braun 560 for three weeks and judge it to be an excellent shaver. Also for once, I have a shaver on which the long hair/side burns trimmer actually works. Used in conjunction with the King of Shaves preshave oil it gives an extremely comfortable shave.

I bought this because I generally find wet shaves really irritate my skin. I was happy to have a less close shave in order to get a more convenient one that did not leave my skin looking horrible. I would say this is a good product for most, but for those with sensitive skin or tough stubble, it's limited. I have gone back to having a short beard now, but I will still come back to this in the future and see whether it's still uncomfortable.

Dry shaving will never be as close as wet shaving but I can't imagine how a shaver could get any closer than this. No rash at all either and I look completely smooth.

It feels really robust and oozes quality. Other reviews have suggested the 560 is noisy but I find it much quiter than my other shaving items. The case is cool but has no home for the power cord or brush, although I don't suppose this matters really. Other reviewers have said the the head obscures the sideburn trimmer but I didn't encounter any such problem. Easy to clean as well.

£75 well spent (and free delivery to boot)!

Hadnt had a shave for a couple of days so I had a fair growth of stubble. Seemed to take a lot longer getting a smooth shave than with the philishave but there was definitely less skin irritation. I could feel a couple of bits of stubble being plucked out rather than cut but again, this was less than with my Philishave with the same growth.

Some stubborn stubble on the neck and jaw line just wouldnt seem to be cut by the razor though no matter how many times I went over the area.

Plus points, 5 mins after the shave, my skin felt really smooth. Definitely seemed a closer shave with less irritation. Glad I didnt pay nearly £140 for it!

Negative points, noisey razor, getting a smooth shave definitely took longer than with my 3 year old Philishave, seemed to pluck some stubble rather than cut and wouldnt cut some stray hair no matter how many times I went over the same area.

Oh the razor also comes with a tiny bottle of 'Application oil' but the instructions dont say how to use this!

Would I recommend this razor? Probably not.

I have recently purchased this shaver and found that it was light and easy to hold. The shaving performance is certainly better than my previous Braun model.

It cuts the awkward hairs on the neck. The only minor problem was slight irritation of the skin after a shave.

This problem was solved by adding some oil (supplied) to the cutters. A very good product.

As per usual from braun a wonderful piece of kit. Very close shave with no irritation at all after shaving.The motor is also excellent it does not lose power even in the toughest of stubble.Plus the washable head is another very good extra.
