First off, this shaver will not replace a traditional wet shave blade, not even close to it.
I purchased this shaver on the strength of the reviews on this website and i must say you guys must be very easily pleased. It just does not perform well enough for the £300, which is a helluva lot of money even if you have disposable income.

The cleaning process is noisy and takes forever. All in all i'm not impressed at all does the site offer a 14 day money back offer.

Does what it says on the tin, The Beagler - 2nd June 2010
I bought this shaver in December 09 and having used it for the last 6 months feel compelled to share my experience.
My first experience of electric shaving was a Braun Pulsonic and I thought that it was the best I could get and would perform well. If I'm honest I was really unhappy with it. Performance was weak on long stubble and I was getting some serious rash around my neck area. On 24 hours...
Click to Read More > growth it just didn't seem to make a difference and just made me sore.
So.. I decided to try the Panasonic as a last ditch attempt before returning to wet shaving. The price was a bit stiff and after speaking to the feller at Shavers.Co.Uk I agreed to buy one on a 30 day moneyback guarantee. No brainer.
It took a week or so to get used to, but it really is in another league in comparison to the Pulsonic. Far closer shave, rips through long stubble no problems and absolutely zero rash.
I rinse it under the tap after every use and charge it after every 3 uses with a clean up in the unit supplied. I've just bought a refill so one every 6 months is a bonus.
I have used this unit wet with foam and it is so close I couldn't believe it. In fact it leaves my face so smooth I'm not sure I like it! Dare I say it - closer than a wet shave with a spanking new blade? Bit close for me but I'm sure it would please most people.
The cleaner is a bit noisy - but really that's just nit picking as it does the job well and seems economical on refills.
I'm happy that I took the plunge and coughed up the money. It is definitely a good purchase and a pleasure to use.
So there you have it. Unbiased and face tested.
I'm not connected in any way with Panasonic or Shavers.Co. So if you are teetering on the edge and can blag a 30 day money back guarantee... then take my word for it.

Fantastic, Karl - 15th May 2010
This has to be the most outstanding electric shaver I have ever used. Yes it is expensive but it is more than worth it. I would not hesitate to recommend it. If you are thinking of buying the ES LA93 all I can say is stop thinking just buy it.
The Best, Richard - 9th April 2010
I have used really good quality Phillips shavers for the last 15 years but this shaver is in a league of its own compared to these. This Panasonic is about as close as you can get to a bladed wet shave. Yes its pricey but if you can afford it and want the best then it is a fantastic product.
Wow, David Basketter - 4th March 2010
I have top of the range shavers from Philips and Braun which I have used regularly. This shaver is in a different league. I particularly like how you can hear hairs being cut, so that you get gentle audio feedback on progress to a smooth shave. If you can afford it, buy without hesitation.
Close Shave, Peter - 9th February 2010
Like other people I was very apprehensive about spending so much on a shaver. My old philips shaver used to miss lots of hair on neck and was very poor on 2-3 days of growth.
I have been using my new Panasonic for a few weeks now with amazing results very close shave even on difficult areas. The shaver is comfortable to hold and easy to use, the trimmer is sharp and neat.

NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL, WHATS THE HYPE!
Excellent shaver, Tony - 19th November 2009
I do not appreciate "disagree, pete" skewing this ELECTRIC shaver review by giving 2 stars, just to promote his personal preference of a wet shave.
For the record it does not matter what "products" you use or pre-shave preparations you make, if you drag an open blade or blades across your face you will remove skin cells as well as stubble.
Although these cells are (Hopefully) d...
Click to Read More >ead this action can expose more sensitive layers of the skin, which is why some people cannot use a traditional "wet" shaver without problems.
Geting back on topic I found the Panasonic shaver excellent and was most surprised to find that the "Wet" option was not just an advertising gimmick but actually did produce a closer and smoother result, perhaps not as close as Pete's surgical method but I still had all the layers of my skin!
I was going to drop a couple of stars for the incessant flashing of the display (When fully charged) that is so bright it floods into the bedroom, from the en-suit and is like trying to sleep next to a faulty neon sign.
Also the design of the charger/plug is such that it pulls itself from the shaver socket (My shaver socket is at the end of a windowsill and a Kinexium shave oil bottle is exactly the right size to support the plug!).
However I will not deduct any stars in an attempt to redress the skewing introduced by Sweeny Todd, sorry, I mean Pete

Very impressed!, Norm - 9th November 2009
Been using it now for a couple of weeks and I am very happy. Much better shave than my previous shaver. Particularly impressed with how well it copes with a two or three day growth. My Philishave needed a lot of work to deal with a couple of days' growth. This is great.
Best I've ever had, Roy in Stratford upon Avon - 15th October 2009
I have had 3 shavers in the past from Shavers UK and I have been extremely satisfied with every one... I will not mention the service received only to say it was 10 out of 10 against every purchase...

OK it's expensive.. If you want the best have a go. You will not be disappointed. If there is anything better on the market , I would be interested to learn what it is...

Superb product and service, Andrew McW - 12th October 2009
Like the other reviewers here I was a little apprehensive about spending £300.00 on a razor however, I was also getting fed up wet shaving my face (for closeness) and using my Philishave on my neck (as wet shaving caused major irritation).
When I was traveling I would only take my Philishave for less hassle but it gave me very poor results.
Well, after some dialogue with ...
Click to Read More >Luke I decided to take the plunge. The razor arrived on the day requested. Hats off to Shavers on that one.
So after charging.....It was fantastic, Far better than my original wet/dry combo in fact on the shaving side I would say this razor is perfect for me, I can't feel a bristle. No irritation whatsoever, and very comfortable to use.
As also mentioned by other reviewers the cleaning unit is slightly noisy but I can only compare it to my old Philishave which was quiet ....but useless. I'll put up with the slight noise!
I see there is now a 30 day money back option which hopefully will make the cash outlay just that little bit easier to stomach.

disagree, pete - 11th October 2009
After having the he experience of using the es-la93! I challenge anybody that i can shave them closer than this mid range electric shaver. don't get me wrong i am all for new technology, but the wet shave is still the closest shave.
If you use the right products for your skin, prepare your skin correctly and take time to shave, you will be amazed. I will be delighted to any open discussions and comments... thanks pete!!!!

Very Impressive Service, Maurice Barr - 30th September 2009
Had the Shaver a few weeks now and am impressed with how it provides a close shave, whether I shave on consecutive days or with a few days growth.
Over the last 40 years I have been mainly a wet shave/blade man mixed in with a couple of attempts at electric razors. However for medical reasons I had to switch to an electric razor. Until now, whatever I have used, I have been prone to cuts or razo...
Click to Read More >r burns. With this razor, it seems that no matter how hard I press or go over the same spot, there have been no 'burns', just a very smooth and clean face.
Still unsure about paying almost £300 for an electric shaver but maybe it's a case of you get what you pay for and the ES-LA93 is without question a very well made piece of kit.
However having said all of the above the main reason I purchased the piece the razor was the fantastic high quality Customer Service I received from Luke Gisby @ Shavers UK. I went over to their base @ Calverton, Nottingham and discovered to my surprise that this was the same firm I had been using for years when they were based in the centre of Nottingham.
They may have changed premises but they still give tremendous Customer Care.
So 11/10 to Luke and the staff at Shavers and (cost aside) 10/10 to the Panasonic.

Great stuff after a month of use, Herbie - 27th September 2009
Second review after a month of use.
9 out of 10 now purely due to the wife getting the ump with the noise of cleaning unit and risk of it waking my couple of month old son. Otherwise would be a 10.
The shaver is comfortable to hold and easy to use - long hair trimmer is sharp and neat. The build quality is brilliant with the buttons and lockable head strong and tactile.

For the last week or two I've been using an antibacterial KoS oil before shaving and it really is fantastic - it is a very very good shaver dry but even better with the oil to soften my hard bristles and lubricate my skin. I have no irritation anywhere and am done in a couple of minutes.
My skin can get spotty despite being 30 yet this shaver is seeming to help there as well with my skin reacting to shaving less.
Occasionally have problems with the patch immediately round my adams apple but that is only when it's grown for a couple of days.
Cleaning unit used every day and cleans and dries really well.
Am very impressed with the quality of the shave and the shaver itself.
Would also recommend you look at the Liz Earle range of mens skin products - I used to nick my wife's but they've since bought out a specific mens versions which are brilliant

Smooth, fast and no red neck!, Rupert - 16th September 2009
I moved up to this from a Philishave 8894 and to summarize - Wow!
I shave M-F and leave it at the weekend. I've always had problems with long hairs on a Monday and can also suffer irritation on my neck. It showed up red too.

Click to Read More >leaning unit (so far) has left it perfectly clean and dry.
I must admit after 2 days it feels ever so slightly tender in the afternoon, but I'm sure that this is my face getting used to it and that the cut hair is sharper to the touch in the afternoon. You can't see any red areas on the neck like the philishave.
After a shave I feel like a 12 year old. apart from just under my jaw bone, I can feel no beard whatsoever - apart from there I feel nothing and its smooth (even to the pinch).
Buy this razor over a rotary, you wont regret it. Get it from here too - they're at a great price and arrive in the morning the day after you order them.

Ordered this shaver online late on Bank Holiday Monday and it turned up Wednesday morning. Great service.

Been wet shaving for most of the last 15 years with one disastrous and short lived foray into the world of the first Philishave with the gel cartridge.
Will be interesting to see how my skin reacts.
The charging pod is a little noisy on the clean and dry setting but not as much as I thought it might be.

Smooth shave!, John - 21st August 2009
Wow! I have just bought this to replace my top of the range Braun and can't believe what a close shave I get. Even on the first day it was closer than the Braun ever got and it just keeps getting better.
Then I tried it with gel and wet and I reckon it gets as close a wet blade. I know it's very expensive, but I would recommend it to anyone.
The delivery from shavers.co.uk was fantastic too, so you all know where to buy!
