Forget Braun 7 series. This is the closest shave I have ever had with an electric shaver. I can easily go 2 days between shaves as it is so close.
I had a very old Phillips 3 head rotary which served me for nearly 20 years but had become much less effective even after replacing foil and cutters. Battery replaced once and needing it again I decided it was time. I tried my friends shaver which was the lv95 and was quite impressed however, when this one arrived it didn't quite perform as well but perhaps I now need my face to get used to a foil shaver of this type so the jury is out. It does shave pretty close but there are always areas on my face and neck that seem to always fail to get cut and close and so the electric shave at the moment takes quite a while and I'd say I probably could wet shave faster. I've not tried this wet and probably won't but will experiment with pre-shave lotions and the like to see if I can improve the speed and results. The cleaning solution is a bit clunky but seems to do the job (only cleaned twice after brushing first) and the inclusion of a chunk of weight to the plug (what's in there?) is a bit of inconvenience to plug in to the small outlet in my bathroom cabinet without it's weight pulling it down (need to be careful). Cleaning fluid seems pretty expensive for what it is. Foil and blade replacements also aren't cheap so there is a need to be VERY careful not to damage these thus only having to replace them only when they've worn due to their duty cycle. The foil particularly appears very fragile to me. I am a bit disappointed in Panasonic's pathetic 1 year warranty on their products whilst a lot of companies can do much better and that appears to be their standard attitude which to me is either a lack of confidence in their products, taking advantage of the minimum they can get away with or their arrogance. Perhaps all of the above. Hopefully I'll get a decent amount of years out of this device but I won't hold my breath. In all I've decided that wet shaving is still something I will still have to do occasionally a this isn't perfect and I knew it wouldn't be anyway but it does provide one of the closest shaves I've had.
Purchased this razor as a replacement for my LV 95 which was also purchased from this company. The 95 has been excellent over the years and still going strong, I just thought it was time for an update. New one is also excellent, a bit quieter I think. In all very pleased.
