I had also Phillips shaver before i was very happy about for years, but its battery time went low and started to cut my skin so i needed a new. It had to be top class Phillips again. I got the s7710 shaver X-mas in '18 and use it daily for 1,5+ year. In general design, handling, battery time is really good. It is however quite noisy, at least double compared to my old one. In beginning it was pretty fine cut little slower than the old one (but that bite me also ;) Now I find it giving a very poor cut leaving stubs all over. I dont know if the blades are worn down - but that i cannot believe from only 1,5 years. I have not used the cleansing machine as I always only dry-shave, so I dont find that feature and routine useful. I rinse the head under warm water now and then. And I cant see how the cleansing stand should impact shaving performance. Hence I find this very expensive shaver not worth the money. I do need to find me a new shaver now. Maybe more similar to my old one or even another brand.

A lifelong wet blade shaver for over 40 years I cautiously tried this as it was in a clearance sale for £50 which is the price of about 40 blades which are becoming increasingly expensive. It takes longer to shave but the advantage is I don't need to be in the bathroom so can be shaving while the rest of the family go about their ablutions. The shave is smooth enough though I feel that the stubble comes back a bit sooner. If need be I give a quick once over which solves the problem. Only problem I have is that the cleansing unit has a port for a mains lead but the lead supplied does not fit - it fits the razor OK but not the unit and I have yet to find anything online to help hence 4 stars and not 5
