Easy, close, comfortable & stylish. This is how I would describe this great value Philishave package. Philips Philishaves are the classic electric shaver and this one sticks with the traditional values, but also uses the latest technology to create a great shave.


I always like the ease of use of a Philips. You just 'plug and play' in terms of you turn the shaver on and move all over the face in any direction. With foil shavers you have to be a little more 'linear' in the shaving motions. With the Philips you can shave in any direction including a circular motion which is very effective at picking up the hairs which grow in any direction.


With the head unit on this HQ8270 it pivots back and forth which when linked with the reflex frame means the cutting heads can adjust superbly well to the contours of your face.


The cutting heads are top of the range and use the latest technology to provide a close comfortable shave. This may sound like a manufacturers promotion, but I personally feel it does exactly that - provides a close comfortable shave.


The cleaning system is a welcome improvement. The old cleaning system wasn't all that effective and when compared to Braun which have the best cleaning systems it struggled. However this new system is a vast improvement and cleans and lubricates the head unit very well.


If you are looking for a shaver which has top of the range performance and specification at a great value price then this is the shaver for you.

After several weeks of research, I decided to choose this shaver. For me, it gets 10 out of 10. It shaves for me at least as close as a razor, although it's true that might be down to the way my beard grows.

You just have to shave with a bit of pressure more or less in the opposite direction of the growth, and persist a bit, and I find it by far better than a razor, with less skin irritation, and therefore greater potential for repeated use.

It's also very nice to use, a good shape, and weight, and it has a pleasing sound. And I've just discovered you've stopped selling it. Shame!
