Bought from Shavers UK in January 2007. So nearly 2 years use and as good as the day I bought it. Whisper quiet motor, lightweight ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand and a really nice close shave without razor burn that captures long hairs. An excellent shaver in every respect.
All in all a great buy from a great retailer.
Could I congratulate Shaver.co.uk on its 5 star service. Excellent. As for the HQ9140 I have found it to be comfortable to hold, quiet and most of all a pleasure to use. Regards to all.
Service first. Rang to confirm that my 2yo Remington could not be repaired - they're not designed to be repairable! I was advised to try Philips (never considered after an early model made my neck red and didn't shave close - forty years ago), and told this model seemed best for my circumstances.
Read reviews and took this excellent advice. It arrived when expected and very first time gave me a closer, gentler, quieter shave than I've ever had from Braun or Remington. Two weeks later I'm still really enjoying shaving, rather than going through a daily chore.
My barber agrees but warns that replacement heads (every two years) are very expensive. I don't give a damn - they'll be worth it.
