I ordered 2 as I was glad to see this product still available - I think I’ve had 3 or 4 in the past*, with declining battery performance the reason to replace after maybe a couple of years of constant use. It shaves close, and the attachment is ideal for trimming my beard to various lengths. In lockdown, this has also allowed me an easy close hair cut all around (I like it short). Ordering & delivery problem-free. Very happy. [*My previous model was called “Multi Groomer MG5090” (before that it was called “Shave’n’Shape”) but this MG5050 is identical in every way, actually a more stylish item being all-black I think, rather than silver!]
I’m so glad Braun are still making this shaver. The design hasn’t changed in decades, and why should it when it works so well for people with fiddly little beards like mine. It sits beautifully in the hand, the foil + cutter is smooth and efficient, and the pop-up trimmer is instantly available when you need it.
This is my third purchase of this type of Braun shaver. The batteries died on the first two, and it worked out cheaper to buy a new one than have the batteries replaced. You cant do it yourself due to the Torx screws that Braun use. I have tried the twin bladed Brauns, but this single blade version shaves me better. The fact that I am on my third model should tell you that I rate this model. The other bonus, is that this model can be used straight from the mains if the battery is dead, unlike the previous model I had.
