I own a Braun 340s-4 wet/dry foil rechargeable shaver, it's 6 years old and gives a perfectly clean, close, and smooth shave; it has the same original "cassette" (cutter/foil), and it shaves as good as new, the battery still holds the charge for about 2 weeks with 3 minutes daily shave, it can be used with foam, gel or shaving soap; I particularly like dry shave then I use pre-electric lotion before shaving and it helps to get a very close, clean and irritation-redness free shave, Braun, in general, has awesome shavers, very long-lasting and their performance is outstanding.
Have been electric shaving for 40+ years and have used all the major brands, rotary and foil. Needed to replace my Philips 5000 rotary and after reading the reviews and spotting this one on sale for £40 in Sainsburys I thought I would give it a go. Been using it for over week shaving every day and it shaves closer than its rivals. It never going to be as close as a wet shave with a blade but it's a lot less fuss and quicker. Seen negative comments from some peole, it's not going to give great results if you are trying to shave long stubble and if you are shaving for long enough to make your face sore, then a foil shavers not suited to your facial hair type. Don't see the point of wet shaving with it but handy to be able to clean under a tap. Suits me, good purchase.
I have tried electric shavers many years ago and found them lacking with what a wet shave gives. But I have grown tired of the red rashes and nicks you get so with technology having advanced over the years I thought I would give them another go. Amazing the Braun 3040s series 3 is what I needed years ago it gives a close shave without any irritation glides smoothly over the skin is light and so easy to clean not a rash in sight excellent.
