I have owned this shaver for 5 years. It is very good but, as others have said, its performance drops and even with lubrication you need to change the foil and cutters regularly. I change every 18 months. One point - the perspex head guard gradually slackens its grip; replacements give no improvement. Very annoying. However I have found a solution. Carefully heat each end in turn with a hot-air gun and squeeze inwards by 1 - 2mm. Allow to cool and the guard then clicks firmly into place. It's then as good as new!!
The shaver itself is very good, however, with regular use the cutters and foil quickly need replacing. They seem to deteriorate much faster than any other electric shaver I've have owned. You'll soon start to notice an increase in the time taken to shave and reduced closeness of shave. After three to four months you'll be needing to replace the foil and cutter. The replacement foil and cutter will set you back £50 which it utterly ridiculous given the original price of the shaver. You're looking at £200 per year to run this shaver. I wouldn't recommend it for this reason alone.
Best shaver I have used. Better than Braun,Philips and even better than my previous Panasonic 8249
