I have hated shaving for the past 40 years.
I have tried every manufacturer and even tried wet shaving a few times. It's always the same old result of either not getting a very good close shave or suffering from a very sore face afterwards.
That is until I decided to not make a decision based solely on costs but to invest in the latest shaving technology.
2 weeks ago I purchased a Panasonic ES-LV65. The first shave was incredible however I decided to give it a full test before submitting my review.
I have halved my shaving time, obtained the closest possible shave EVERY TIME, don't suffer any facial/neck discomfort AT ALL and it's so quiet compared to my previous model.
I personally don't think Panasonic (or any manufacturer) can better the shave obtained by this shaver - it is a truly remarkable manufacturing achievement and a PLEASURE to use.
I would recommend this shaver to absolutely everyone!
This is a great machine. I used to be a big fan of Braun shavers, but the company changed ownership in 2005 and in my opinion quality and value went way down.
My last model needed the blades to be replaced every few months, or both shave quality and comfort suffered.
I replaced that with a cheap machine from Remington, but it tore my face and didn't give a close shave (the foils were too narrowly curved or something).
I've had the ESLV65 about a week now, and it's all I could want for speed, closeness of shave, and above all, comfort.
I put that down to the high speed motor, and good quality blades and foils.
If like me, you tend to use a new toy first and only read the operating instructions later, be aware that it has two shaving modes: pressing the on-button once gives you Sensor Mode (adjusting motor power to the detected thickness of your stubble) and a second push gives Normal Mode (constant power). I've found Sensor mode to be great.
So far I've only used it for dry shaving, and I will probably stick with that, but I'm intrigued by the idea of an electric shaver that also works with water or shaving foam.
It's at a good price point in my view: expensive, but worth it. I think the original price is for millionaires, and I was glad to see it repriced so quickly.
Finally, Shavers.co.uk provide an excellent service, I just wish they would extend their mail delivery service to Ireland.
Fantastic razor - best I have ever used and great service and advice from Luke at Shavers.
