After using various "cheaper" clippers which did not last long and tugged the hair, I spent time on reviews of the different models available, finally settling on the Wahl Super Taper.
Although slightly more expensive than the "run of the mill clippers" these are definitely worth the money.

These clippers are an industrial grade professional tool.
They cut really well and efficiently, and will withstand years of use. Most parts on the clippers are replaceable, but, unless you are a professional, you should never need to do this.
These were recommended to me by a professional barber who has used them for years, trouble free.
