I have had two Panasonic "Wet & Dry" shavers previously and was very satisfied with the first and not quite so with the second and even less with this model.
It has very plastic feel to it but the main thing is that the cord is attached directly to the shaver whereas on previous models the cord was attached to a charging stand which on by first shaver was also the transformer. This means that you have to store the shaver on a bathroom shelf with the possibility of it being accidently knock off.
Because the transformer is now incorporated into the mains plug it means that the plug cannot be changed for use overseas. The use of the old British 2 pin, obsolete for many years except in bathroom sockets, means using an adapter even in the UK if you want to charge the shaver and don't have a bathroom style socket in your home.
Finally with this model you have to apply oil before using it although the instructions do not say if you must do this each time or periodically. Old Remington hair clippers required you to do this but changed many years back to blades that did not need to be oiled.
I feel that Panasonic have regressed in design and operation whilst increasing their prices considerably over the passed 5 years.
Thanks for the feedback on the Panasonic ES-GA21 Rob; based on your review we don't believe you intended to rate this item as 10 and wanted to make other readers aware of this - Jim@Shavers.
after the remington shavers, oh what joy. the panasonic cuts fast and does not require a daily charge up. joy to my world
