Had this razer for about 18 months, and during the last 6 months noted a smell of "Mold" in the bathroom. Traced this to the razer. Contacted Panasonic who said I was servicing the razer correctly. I eventually stripped the razer to find it was full of slime and stinking to high heaven. I put it in the dustbin and would never buy another one.
Im 35, and have thick hair that grows quick. I've used electric shavers from age 17, as wet shaving drew blood. In the past, I have always bought £40 and under shavers, including 'half price' stuff.
This is my first 'above £100' shaver. I was worried about the expense, but have to say that after 3 days of owning it, it was well worth the money. It's a bit like shaving in 'high definition'. It does a great job of making my heavy stubble look alot lighter.
It shaves at a constant top speed, which I love. No more listening out for if the motor sounds low and groany.
Not bought an 'above £100' shaver before? Go for it. It's worth it. And, I must add, the service from the website was fine, and delivery quick.
Cheers, Jon
I have owned this model for just over one year. I bought it to replace my eight year old Panasonic. I am happy with my purchase.
At first, the new Chinese-made model felt light and flimsy compared to my old Japanese-made model and I thought the performance was worse.
But I soon adapted to the new model, and appreciated it's somewhat quieter operation. It is best in wet mode, shaving so close that I get the odd nick. Shaving in the shower takes about 5 minutes.
It's good in dry mode too, but not so good as a high-end Philishave.
I get best results using Body Shop Macca Root shaving cream, and worst results from Gillette's standard shaving foam (the stuff you get in those airline amenity packs).
